Don’t love the new year? Well, as a rumor already floats about the prospect of a lighter 3DS, we are getting a more in-depth look at the Wii U as sets to release this year. Also the anticipation builds for new hardware from the other big companies because the XBox 360 and PS3 have been around for a while. I mean it’s 2012 and we should be hearing about everything now, right?

Well, video game analyst Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan Securities, has his own theories regarding the PS4 and XBox 720. Forbes recently reported Pachter saying,  “The Playstation 4 and XBox Next will not be presented this year”. Pachter breaks down the info and throws out percentages but the biggest number is zero, and zero as in:

I think there’s zero chance of a tease from Sony for PlayStation 4 and only a 20 percent chance from Microsoft that they’ll tease the next Xbox.

It makes sense considering that we probably won’t be playing next gens from Sony OR Microsoft in the next couple of years. Gaudiosi does a good job of reminding us that the Wii U wasn’t shown until last year’s E3 and the Wii U will available this year, and the same goes for the PS Vita. Aint no thing because the XBox 360 and the PS3 are still pushing big games this year, now Nintendo is able to show off a bit with what the Wii U can do.

This wil give me more credence in following the second resolution of the new year.
