Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford took some recently to talk to the Official Playstation Blog about the upcoming (and definitely under the radar) game Aliens: Colonial Marines now slated for a Fall 2012 release.
You’d think that when a talented studio like Gearbox got their hands on a Aliens title (and one that is presumably canon) that everyone would be going crazy with excitement. But with arguably subpar AVP movies, bad Aliens games and a delayed release date even for this game… Perhaps it’s no surprise that the hype level is still a bit low.
Pitchford aimed to change that in his interview however, implying that the later release date will only benefit Aliens allowing them to better realize their true vision for the game instead of comprising it in order to get the title to market. The CEO also revealed that the game will be a much grittier fare than say Borderlands, and will offer challenging gameplay, put you on familiar Aliens set pieces like The Derelict and will also feature NEW xenomorphs to keep players on their toes.
So check out the gameplay trailer below (if you haven’t already seen it) and get ready for some power loader action this Fall!
