If you are a fan of Final Fantasy XI, what better way to celebrate a decade of the game then to go to a concert for it. On September 22, 2012 in Berkely, California, a special fan-focused concert will be held that will feature more than 70 musicians and led by Grammy-winning conductor Arnie Roth, who has also been integral to the production for Distant Worlds.

Composers Naoshi Mizuta and Kumi Tanioka will also be in attendance and available for VIP meet and greet sessions, as well as a “few special surprises” that have yet to be announced.  Additionally, all attendees will receive a special Final Fantasy XI in-game item called the “Maertro’s Baton” which can be seen in the video below.

So if all this sounds intriguing to you, here are the details:

  • Where: Zellerbach Auditorium in Berkeley, California
  • When: Saturday, September 22 @8:00 PM
  • Tickets: Sold online (enter code “VANADIEL” for 15% discount) or via phone at (510) 642-9988.

While I personally wasn’t a huge fan of FF XI, I can’t deny that the music is phenomenal and having been to hear it performed live being conducted by Arnie Roth was truly amazing.  Even if you aren’t a fan of the game, I’m sure you would love the show.
