Wow! So in some huge news EA has decided to hold back NBA Live 13 from launch. The game was slated to be released in October 2012 but it’s clear to them that the game won’t be ready. EA Sports Vice President Andrew Wilson said:
We also made a commitment to deliver a high quality experience — this is what our fans expect and what we demand of ourselves at EA SPORTS. But making great games is not easy, and we’re just not there yet on NBA LIVE 13. Having continued to look at the game over the past few days, it’s clear that we won’t be ready in October.  And rather than launch midway through the season, we’re going to sit out the full year and stay focused on making next year’s game great.
I mean this game had to be looking like straight up trash for them to cancel the release. Â This was going to be their highly anticipated return to the series after taking a few years off from the NBA Live games. Â Personally I’ve never really cared for the franchise, as I’ve been more a fan of the 2K series from Sega, but it’s still a bit shocking. Â Hopefully they can get everything together and release a great product next year because if there’s anything I’ve learned from the history of Sega and EA sports games, it’s that competition brews good advances for both!
