How do you say Super Smash Brothers at Sony? Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale with cheese.
SuperBot Entertainment (go to their site and just keep scrolling down) have been working on a game for the Playstation 3 for a bit and recently made a big announcement on the Playstation.Blog. They have been developing Playstation All-Star Battle Royale, a 4-player brawler looking very much like the Super Smash Brothers series on the Nintendo. This is most entertaining because this game will precariously be ready around the estimated time the Wii-U is expected to be available later this year. We will get more information concerning BOTH the Wii-U and PSX All-Stars BR at this year’s E3; Omar Kendall of SuperBot makes it very clear that E3 will be their greatest springboard for attention of this game.
What SuperBot Entertainment has been trying to do is keep up communication with the gaming community. This game is meant to celebrate the entire Sony Playstation catalog through the years of its existences. Currently, you can see Parappa the Rapper, God of War, and Twisted Metal franchises already being represented; their is talk that even 3rd Party companies’ characters are being invited and included inside Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. As details are kept secret until E3, we can only speculate which other characters will be included. I could imagine Ratchet and/or Clank, Crash Bandicoot, and the Little Big World things to have some role in the game. Hmmmm, what about Gex?
The game is going to be 4-player local though the major focus takes place on its online matches. There will a bunch of tourney modes, team matches, and enough free-for-all modes for everyone to enjoy. The key will be how well it plays and in what ways it will separate itself from Smash Brothers. The best idea might be to literally steal everything Smash Brothers does and just use a PSX centric roster. Only time will tell. We are hearing that the potential release date will be around the end of the year. In the meantime, drop comments and suggestions to the Playstation.Blog so your voice can be heard.
If that’s too much energy then drop down and tell us what you think. You’re for damn sure you’ll be heard here!
