There is a new firmware coming to the Playstation 3. Firmware 4.30 will be bringing some changes to the trophies side of the console, while also discontinuing an app that has been with the console since it’s inception. First, the trophies section will be moved from the game portion of the interface to the PSN section and will now display every Vita trophy you have acquired.

The second is Sony will be retiring it’s Life with Playstation app along with it’s primary focus, Folding@Home. In case you forgot, Folding@Home was a collaboration between Sony & Stanford University that let idle PS3 consoles to contribute to Stanford’s research for Parkinson & Alzheimer diseases. Sony says that over 15 million gamers participated and over 100 million “computation hours” went into the research.
