A couple of months ago, I shared some information on how to get into the Beta for Spiral Knights. Well iIn April, Sega released Spiral Knights, a free MMORPG developed by Three Rings Design.  Now the game is available on Steam for download.  The game has action adventure elements combined with real time fighting which has been likened to Zelda’s Four Swords Adventure on the GameCube.

Sega’s blog states:

“A game with strong co-operative and social elements like Spiral Knights is, put simply, a great fit for Steam,” said Daniel James, CEO of Three Rings. “Beyond the convenience of automatic game updates and easy Energy purchases through Steam, our players will be able to enjoy their time in the Clockworks with their existing Friends List members, aided by built-in voice chat and instant messaging.”

The game pits players against the creatures of Cradle, where they must fight to survive by scavenging materials from the ever-changing dungeons beneath the surface. The game features:

• A constantly changing world brought to life in a vibrant, retro-inspired visual style
• Intuitive pick-up-and-play controls (including both mouse-only and gamepad control)
• Opportunities for players to create guilds, craft new gear, and customise the looks and abilities of their characters
• Easy matchmaking for co-op mayhem with parties of up to four players
• Gear and weapons upgradeable through adventuring or through the purchase of Crystal Energy

Check out some gameplay footage below and download it from Steam. Its a free game and looks like a lot of fun.
