Well this kind of news always breaks my heart.  LightBox Interactive, the development company behind Starhawk on the PS3, has laid off half their staff.  The Texas based studio is making a transition to iOS development, and with that transition they’re becoming a much smaller studio.  Lightbox Interactive President Dylan Jobe told Joystiq:
“Lay-offs always suck but they are an unfortunate reality of business sometimes. The best we can do is try and treat our people with respect during the shocking transition of a lay-off.”
As we’ve seen many times, many small video game companies go under.  As fans, it’s most of our dreams to work in the industry.  It’s just unfortunate it’s as tough of an industry as it is.  I wish the talented folks who worked at LightBox Interactive much success in their future endeavors.  They made a hell of a game in Starhawk, and hopefully they can stay in the industry and contribute to a hell of a game elsewhere!
