Oh happy day! As the title implies, Ubisoft and New Regency have announced a partnership for bringing an Assassin’s Creed movie to the massnes. Usually when I hear about an upcoming video game movie, I give zero fugs, however an AC movie has definitely gives me hope.

For starters, Ubisoft Motion Pictures (the film and television division of Ubisoft) will be working closely with New Regency and Ubisoft will maintain control of the key elements of the film, including the creative direction.  In other words, this isn’t going to be a bastardization of the franchise like Street Fighter “The Legend of Chun-Li”.

Ubisoft chose to partner with New Regency because they are a talent- and filmmaker-driven company, with the same independent and creative mindset that we have at Ubisoft Motion Pictures

-Jean-Julien Baronnet, chief executive officer, Ubisoft Motion Pictures

Michael Fassbender will also star in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed film after working closely with New Regency on the newly finished Steve McAqueen’s 12 Years a Slave. An announcement like this really gets me excited to play some Assassin’s Creed III! Wouldn’t you agree? Let me know your thoughts on an Assassin’s Creed movie.
