Excited for Assassin’s Creed III? Well take a look at this developer diary for the PS Vita exclusive Assassin’s Creed III Liberation. Now I know you might be thinking, who cares nobody has a PS Vita anyways right? Well that’s not the point. The point is you get a sneak peak at what is going on in the series during another pivotal moment in history and you finally get to take the role of a female assassin.
This time around, Liberation takes place in and around the city of New Orleans around 1765 to 1780. In other words, it overlaps with the time frame of Assassin’s Creed 3 and while the story lines may be separate, Ubisoft says that Liberation protagonist Aveline will encounter her AC3 counterpart Connor at least once.
AC3 Liberation will be dropping exclusively on Sony’s PS Vita on October 30th which is the same day as AC3 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. From looking at the gameplay sections of the developer’s diary it really looks like you are playing a console game on a handled system. Perhaps if more developers make games like Assassin’s Creed III Liberation, the PS Vita will actually sell some units!
